Our History
Burlington Christian Academy was established through the work of clergy and business leaders in Alamance County in 1978 as an interdenominational Christian elementary school. That fall, the school opened with three faculty members and 25 students.
Since that time, BCA has grown to over 680 students with more than 70 faculty and staff. In 1996 we began classes for Middle School. In August 2006, we established a High School beginning with 9th grade. 10th, 11th, and 12th grades will be added one per year consecutively. BCA's students represent approximately 150 churches in the community with the same denominational diversity represented by our faculty and staff. BCA has become the largest non-public school in Alamance County with students attending from Alamance, Guilford, Orange, and Caswell Counties.
Our first building was completed in 1984 and consisted of 14,500 square feet. In 1997, a 20,000 square foot facility was added. Our third 24,000 square foot building was completed in 2001. A new gymnasium was completed in August 2007. The school now houses a preschool, elementary, middle school, and high school with 9th and 10th grades.
Mission Statement
Burlington Christian Academy has a two-fold mission. We seek to provide students with an excellent academic education and to disciple them in the Christian faith and a biblical worldview. Through the intentional integration of academics and faith, we seek to equip students with knowledge, skills, and biblical principles for successful living. Within our loving and nurturing learning environment, we strive to make a significant difference in a child's life so that each child can grow to be the person Christ intends him or her to be.
